Colts have it pretty sweet at Poneke Dojo because, as well as their own class, they can choose to join in the 10 yrs+ class or jump in with the adults or both.

The Thursday class is specifically for college age kids.  It is traditional Kyokushin but Shihan Chris throws in all kinds of random fight training to keep it interesting and applicable.  Whatever he’s doing it’s working because the class is growing!  It could be that the noobies are inspired by our new black belts!

Four of our colts graded to black belt in October 2009.  They are the first ever colt black belts to come out of the Poneke Dojo.  All four were also among the group who travelled to Tokyo to train and compete in 2008.   Check out more pics on Flickr.
