Poneke Dojo – Opening March 5th 2011
You are invited to attend the Poneke Dojo Whakatau (opening). We have an amazing weekend with Members of Ngai Tuhoe doing a karakia at dawn to welcome the Poneke dojo in to the light (”Po” meaning Night and “Neke” to follow). Following this will be the traditional Powhiri and Japanese version called Hajimare. Come along and join in or come and watch Poneke perform Demonstrations and our Boys Fight in match up against otheir NZ team squad.
Sat 5.30am Karakia for the early Birds
Sat 9.30am Powhiri to welcome members on the dojo
Sat 9.45am Hajimare (Japanese taiko drum style opening)
Sat 10 -12.30 Training and demonstrations
Lunch
Sat 2pm Poneke World Tournament/Aussie selection pre fights
Sunday – 10am Beach Session
