I haven’t got gory details on any of the fights except for Jamie’s. I had a few txts from Chris. He said the colts all fought really well and made him proud in Japan. None of them had a win but he thought they had closed the gap with the international fighters since last time we went. As always the Japanese and Russians impressed with their “solid, mobile explosive strength”. Unfortunately Chris Eades was worst for wear… he had his arm broken (knee) but when Jamie spoke to him last night (from hospital) it sounded like he was feeling pretty good about how he’d been going up until that point. Nice work guys & congratulations to Chris & Josh for getting your international wings! Darsheka & Luci are veterans now!
Jamie had a really hard fight in Wanganui. He took the first round comfortably but his opponent came out firing massive knees in the second round and caught Jamie with about 4 good clean shots in the head. In the third round unfortunately Jamies fitness let him down!!! Mostly teaching and not having had heavy bags or any gandam gear use over the last few months he found his endurance just wasn’t there. Be very afraid because, just like someone else I know, Jamie doesn’t like losing and he’s been given some excellent motivation to concentrate on himself for a while and amp up the training. I don’t know now if he is more exciting when he’s winning or when he’s losing!!
I’ve heard stuff all about the Auckland comp. All I heard is that Rob and Thelvin dominated their fights. The others didn’t win but there were some very close matches and difficult decisions. Friday training will probably be the best place to hear more… depending on injuries I guess! Chris will be back Friday though so could be a good place to be for stories!
